Fund transfers from Tunisians living abroad recorded an increase of 4.6% as of December 10, 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the latest monetary and financial data published last Friday on the official website of the Central Bank of Tunisia.
The total value of these transfers from the Tunisian diaspora amounts to 7,607.8 million dinars, thus exceeding the revenue generated by the tourism sector, which also increased by 7.2%, reaching 7,050 million dinars. .
These fund transfers and tourism income played a key role in covering the external debt service, estimated for the current year at around 13,483.1 million dinars. They also contributed to the strengthening of net foreign currency reserves, which currently amount to 25,171.1 million dinars, or the equivalent of 113 days of imports.
