On the occasion of the publication of its CSR report (1), SNCF Voyageurs carried out a complete update on the decarbonization of its TER equipment, in particular AGC and Régiolis.

Biofuel Régiolis

Since 2021, the 15 B 84500 on the – Granville line have been powered with B 100 biofuel made from rapeseed oil. No modifications have been made, and the self-propelled vehicles behave very well in operation. The battery-powered Régiolis In 2022, the B 83519/83520 train managed by STF Occitanie became a prototype of a battery-powered hybrid train. Two of the four diesel engines have been replaced by lithium-ion batteries.

The comfort was very appreciated by travelers, the train emitting no noise. On the side of the driving agents, the feedback is very positive, declares Pierre-Henri Tibogue, driver at TER Occitanie.
