For the first time, Agadir-Al Massira airport welcomed its three millionth passenger, crossing the symbolic bar of 3 million passengers for the year 2024, reports the National Airports Office (ONDA).
This new record illustrates the growing attractiveness of the Agadir destination among national and international travelers, as well as the strategic role of the airport for the tourist and economic development of the region.
For the first eleven months of the year, the airport recorded an increase of 36%, already welcoming more than 2.8 million passengers. Aircraft movements also increased with a growth of 29%, or 19,620 flights, arriving and departing.
Third Moroccan airport platform, Agadir-Al Massira airport and its share of traffic recorded over the first eleven months represents 10% of the overall traffic of Morocco’s airports.
ONDA thus confirms Agadir’s place among Morocco’s key destinations. This growing dynamic will be consolidated by the extension and redevelopment projects of the airport’s terminal facilities, making it possible to increase the total reception capacity from 2.6 million passengers to 7 million passengers per year.
