Elon Musk and his group Tesla aim to extend their energy expertise in France, particularly through collaboration with TakeEnergy. This company plans to build the largest electricity storage platform in the country, located in the town of Cernay-lès-Reimsin the Marne.
This project, known as BESS (Battery Energy Storage System), aims to respond to growing energy management challenges, particularly during periods of high winter demand. To do this, Tesla will provide approximately 140 Megapackscutting-edge storage units integrating batteries and inverters. These infrastructures will make it possible to regulate energy on the network and reduce the risk of outages, while optimizing available resources.
The initiative is part of a global dynamic, while other actors such as TotalEnergies are also investing in energy storage. HAS Dunkirksimilar projects are already operational, and the government actively encourages technological innovation to strengthen energy sobriety.
The TagEnergy platform in Marne should be operational by the end of 2025, thus contributing to more efficient electricity management and a more sustainable energy transition. This collaboration highlights Tesla’s growing commitment to supporting innovative energy solutions across Europe.
