It is in spare parts that the Fiat garage in Meyrin will leave. At least what it contains. As announced at the end of September, the management of Stellantis & You – Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Jeep dealership – decided to close the historic site and lay off around thirty employees. On December 19, the garage will permanently close its doors.

If the vehicles have already left the scene, nearly 50,000 objects remain. A major auction will allow collectors, mechanics or simple motorists to do business. “The management wanted to offer a last stand so that everyone could leave with a little piece of history,” indicates Valorum, responsible for the event, in a press release.

On the 40,000 m² site, Juan Caïdo, independent newsboy in charge of sales, has been hard at work for two weeks. “The sale will take place in three stages: Tuesday December 10 on the workshop side; Friday on the showroom side as well as an online sale until Saturday, December 14 at 12 p.m.,” he said. The opportunity for a young mechanic wishing to get started to collect equipment for his future workshop. But also for private individuals to acquire a charging station for electric vehicles. “There will also be goodies as well as tires. We collected 230 sets of four, some of which were never collected by customers,” said Juan Caïdo.
