Manufacturers who market on European soil are forced to make them last as long as possible, sometimes by restyling them several times, their thermal vehicles which will become obsolete by the ban on sales of new thermal cars in 2035. For the Toyota Aygo X, retirement is still far away since this model born in 2022 benefits from its first restyling.
The prototype of the restyled Toyota Aygo and the presentation of the production model should only take place next year. As for marketing, it would be planned for the beginning of 2026. This restyling could be followed by another facelift later to make this car last until 2030
Mini-city car: a category in decline
The Toyota Aygo X is a mini-city car with an adventurer style, the category of mini-city cars being shunned by manufacturers, the Aygo In addition, most mini-city cars are now electric like the Dacia Spring, Fiat 500e and the Volkswagen e-Up! (the latter available from stock only).
A new cutout for the hood.
For Toyota, it is appropriate not to revolutionize its Aygo X mini-city car, and for restyling, the Japanese brand should be content with cosmetic modifications. We can see on the front of the prototype that the grille and the shield are slightly modified. The biggest change is the hood which benefits from a new cutout, because the headlights are profoundly modified with regard to their interior graphics, but also their shape, in particular the upper cutout of the light.
Developments in infotainment to be expected.
As for the rear part of the vehicle, as is often the case during a restyling, the differences will be few. However, we note that there should be a small graphic change in the lights, while the shield could be modified slightly. Regarding the passenger compartment of the vehicle, this being entirely camouflaged on the prototype, we can expect an update of the infotainment with perhaps a more substantial digital offer. On the other hand, the 72 hp 1.0 VVT-i unit which equips this car should not benefit from any modifications except in terms of mapping, in order to reduce consumption.
