Residents of the Montréal- borough have been subject to a new preventive boil water advisory throughout its territory since Wednesday evening, 7:30 p.m.

This measure is taken “due to an outage and a drop in water pressure,” specified the City of Montreal in a press release sent in the evening.

More than 80,000 residents of the district are affected by this notice.

The City of Montreal asks consumers to boil water for at least 1 minute before consuming it or using it to brush their teeth. Boiled water can “keep for three days in the refrigerator or 24 hours at room temperature.”

The instruction has been in effect since November 27, until further notice. As soon as the situation is restored, a return to normal notice will be issued by the City.

The sectors are limited to Boulevard Saint-Michel to the west and Albert-Hudon to the east, then from Gouin in the north to Industriel in the south. Look at the map of the territory on the City of Montreal website dedicated to the disruption to see if your neighborhood is affected.
