DIn his response to an oral question in the House of Representatives on “universalizing the use of clean energy,” Benali stressed that midway through the term, the government authorized clean energy projects with a capacity of 2,000 megawatts.
He added that a set of procedures and measures have been taken to accelerate the generalization of the use of clean energy, stressing in this regard the increase in annual investments from 4 to 15 billion dirhams by 2027.
Among the measures that have been taken, according to the minister, is “the removal of the main obstacle to the generalization of clean energy, namely, the network.”
“Investments exceeding 30 billion dirhams have been mobilized,” while they did not exceed 1 billion dirhams per year during the period from 2009 to 2022.
In relation to the legislative reforms, Benali indicated that legal texts have been adopted with the aim of developing “decentralized production relating to clean energies”, stressing that these efforts have allowed in particular “the publication of tariffs for access and use of the electricity network and the services of the electricity system for the first time on January 31, 2024”.
