After many twists and turns, the French IT group finally announced on Sunday June 30 that it had reached an agreement with its creditors to pay off its debt of 4.8 billion euros.

The rescue of Atos took a new turn on Sunday, June 30. After David Layani, whose takeover bid had been accepted the previous week, preferred to throw in the towel, the IT group finally announced reached agreement on the main terms of a financial restructuring plan with a group of banks and bondholders In other words: its creditors will themselves take over the company’s colossal debt of 4.8 billion euros.

The end of the descent into hell?

Based in particular in Angers and Trélazé, where it employs 450 people, the former French flagship has been going through a financial storm for almost four years. Many scenarios have been considered in recent months to get this giant with 94,000 employees out of the rut. But so far, none have come to fruition. Does this new proposal finally mark the epilogue of the descent into hell? Atos has given itself until the end of July to sign a definitive agreement.
