France Travail personal space inaccessible: bug or cyberattack?

A decree enacting the changes that would impact job seekers was expected on July 1. But after the results of the first round of legislative elections, the unemployment insurance reform was suspended by Gabriel Attal. It is in this context that the France Travail website is inaccessible this Monday.

Indeed, job seekers, who went to the France Travail website this Monday to consult possible messages in their personal space, were surprised by the unavailability of the site. Users noticed straight away that the former Pôle emploi site was very slow. After the authentication phase, the site displays “Service unavailable” on Google Chrome, while on Firefox, the page continues to load until showing a white screen.

The public service France Travail has not provided any information regarding this dysfunction, while on social networks, job seekers are wondering about the inaccessibility of their personal space. It must be said that for the moment, no avenue is favored to explain this situation.

In the absence of official explanations from France Travail, all assumptions may be plausible. Users who have testified on social networks face different problems. Indeed, bugs are not all the same. Some see “Service Unavailable” and others “Unauthorized Access” or “404 Error”.

Cyberattack or simple bug?

Another portion of Internet users received the following message: “Due to a technical incident, our services are experiencing disruptions. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.” A message which does not really give the reasons for this bug.

It must be said that the unavailability of this site penalizes users. First, they cannot access their messages from France Travail without their personal space. The appointments planned for some with their advisors cannot be confirmed. Any payments to which the unemployed may be entitled are also not accessible.

For now, this outage is fueling all the speculations. The hypothesis of a cyberattack is put forward by some Internet users, recalling that in March, France Travail was the victim of an attack that resulted in the leak of data of 43 million French people. Other Internet users explain this inaccessibility by a simple bug. We must wait for the explanations from France Travail to decide.
