She abuses a 14-year-old student more than 20 times: 30 years in prison

Thirty years in prison. The sentence is impressive but in reality, Melissa Curtis will only spend twelve months behind bars and five years on probation. This was confirmed by the Montgomery County Court (Maryland) in a press release sent to “People” on Wednesday. Upon her release from prison, the 32-year-old American will have to register as a sex offender and will no longer be allowed to have contact with minors, except her own children.

The investigation against Melissa Curtis opened in October 2023, when a young man reported to the local police facts dating back to 2015, when he was fourteen years old. At that time, the 22-year-old American was a teacher at Montgomery Village High School, where the teenager was a student. He participated in activities that the teacher organized after school. According to the young man, Melissa Curtis sexually abused him in a classroom, in his car, at the teacher’s mother’s house and at the victim’s home.

The complainant explained that he had more than twenty sexual relations with his teacher over a period of several months, until April 2015. The teacher is notably accused of having made his victim consume alcohol and marijuana and for pushing her to perform cunnilingus on him. Targeted by an arrest warrant on October 31, 2023, the thirty-year-old surrendered a week later. Last June, she pleaded guilty to “third-degree sexual assault.” The police, who believe that Melissa Curtis may have attacked other students, have launched an appeal to potential victims.
