The structure of this fleet remains characterized by the preponderance of prepaid with 87.1% compared to 12.9% for postpaid. The average monthly usage after this period fell by -11.4% at 70 minutes compared to Q1 2023. By operator, IAM maintains its leading position with a market share of 34.9% (vs. 36.1% in Q1 2023), followed by Meditelecom with 32.7% (against 33.4% a year earlier) at the time when the PDM of WANA Corporate advances to 32.4% (vs. 30.5% at the end of March 2023).

By customer category, WANA Corporate has a PDM of 36.1% on post paid (vs. 35.1% a year ago), followed by IAM with 34.5% (vs. 35.4% a year ago) and Meditelecom with 29.4% (vs. 29.5% in Q1 2023).

On prepaid, IAM maintains the lead in the ranking with a market share of 35% (vs. 36.2% at the end of March 2023), followed by Meditelecom with 33.2% (vs. 33.9% a year earlier) and WANA Corporate with 31.8% (vs. 29.8% in Q1 2023). For its part, the fixed-line telephone base continues its development in Q1 2024, increasing by +2.7% to 2.95 million subscribers compared to the previous quarter (an improvement of +9.3% year-on-year). As a result, the penetration rate stands at 7.97% (vs. 7.36% in Q1 2023).

Outgoing fixed telephony traffic increased at the end of Q1 2024 to 299 million minutes, down -11.8% compared to the same period in 2023. Maroc Telecom continues to lose share but remains at the top of the market with a market share of 59.2% (vs. 70.42% in Q1 2023), followed by Meditelecom with 23% (vs. 19.2% a year earlier) and Wana Corporate with 17.8% (vs. 10.4% at the end of March 2023).

The internet segment, for its part, is virtually stagnant at the end of March 2024 at 38.3 million subscribers compared to the previous quarter (an improvement of +7.5% yoy), bringing the penetration rate to 103.45% (vs. 103.42% in Q4 2023 and 97.19% in Q1 2023). By operator, Maroc Telecom occupies a market share of 33% (vs. 35.32% in Q1 2023) against 67% for the rest of the operators. On theADSL, IAM holds 67% (compared to 87.6% a year earlier), while the other operators share 33% of the market (vs. 12.4% a year earlier). On the Mobile Internet, Maroc Telecom displays an improving market share of 31.2% (compared to 32.9% in Q1 2023), followed by 68.8% for the other operators. For the Internet FTTH, IAM remains the leader with a market share of 48.8% (vs. 47.2% a year previously) compared to 51.2% for the other operators. Finally, 4G predominates with more than 89.5% of the mobile Internet base compared to 10.5% for 3G.
