It is not yet done, but the City of Geneva could indeed acquire the house of the comic strip author Zep, Philippe Chappuis, father of the famous character Titeuf, announces Lake Geneva Blue et The Geneva Tribune. The Executive wishes to acquire the property and its vast domain to turn it into a public park.
The Municipal Department of Planning, Construction and Mobility (DACM) confirms that a majority of the Administrative Council has given positive notice to an acquisition of the villa with an offer of 20 million francs.
On the Pilet & Renaud management website, in the “prestige” section, the “Maison de maître in the heart of Geneva” has an area of 35,000 m2 and is located on avenue d’Aïre and overlooks the Rhône .
This splendid building of 848 square meters spread over four floors and 16 rooms, is located in the Servette district, in Geneva, the city where Philippe Chappuis was born. To that, you can add a gigantic park of more than 30,000 m², part of which is made up of vines plunging towards the Rhône, a terraced garden and an infinity pool, just that.
According to our colleagues at Tempsthe sale price asked for this estate built in the 17th century by the former city trustee was 25 million francs. A nice added value for this listed mansion that Zep acquired for 13.2 million francs in 2008, helped by the global success of Titeuf.
“As soon as you cross the gate, you enter a forest. Not a centimeter of concrete is visible even though we are in the middle of the city”

If you are interested in acquiring this humble abode before the City of Geneva decides, be aware that rustic properties often go hand in hand with significant maintenance, and it is common for the necessary renovations to put off potential buyers. One reason why these properties frequently remain on sale for more than a year, which should give you time to save.
