The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) is recalling a brand of cheese curds that were not prepared in a sanitary manner.

Cheese curds produced by Fromagerie Métayer in Saint-Cyprien-de-Napierville, in Montérégie, were offered for sale on November 20 in the company’s facilities located at 603E, Montée Douglass.

Pouches from 250 g to 1 kg are affected by the recall. These were prepared on November 20 and their expiration date is December 30.

The operator and the MAPAQ participate in the dissemination of a warning as a preventive measure. People who have the product in their possession are asked not to consume it. They can return it to the establishment where they purchased it or throw it away.

If the product does not exhibit any odor or signs of suspicious alteration, its consumption may represent a health risk.

Note that no cases of illness have yet been associated with the consumption of this food.
