An American preparer well known for working on diesel pick-ups is today being singled out by the American administration for having sold millions of dollars worth of devices for blowing up particle filters.
This company obviously has nothing to do with public health. Despite the fact that fine and very fine particles are recognized as particularly harmful to humans and vulnerable people, some do not hesitate to offer their services in order to blow up the depollution devices. And in particular the diesel particle filter. This American company had made a business out of it by selling thousands of specific devices allowing it to no longer have to use particle filters.. But today it finds itself caught up by the American administration which accuses it in particular of violation of the Clean Air Act and above all illegal importation of devices prohibited by law.
A company registered in the Cayman Islands
American regulations provide that particle filters and any pollution control devices must be retained on diesel pick-ups. Trading in a system that allows you to circumvent the law therefore exposes you to big risks, especially since the figures are dizzying: the vein was well established with the purchase of the equipment in Canada from two resellers. In total, the defendants allegedly purchased $33 million worth of systems to remove DPFs between 2015 and 2023.and they would have received more than 75 million dollars in turnover. The company, with the evocative name “DPF Delete Shop”, is registered in the Cayman Islands. The men charged face up to 5 years in federal prison and a very heavy fine. And as our colleagues at Jalopnik remind us, the famous Diesel Brothers preparers had already been fined $850,000 for having modified numerous pick-ups in order to practice “coll roaling”, which allows driving while clearing immense black smoke.
