(Ecofin Agency) – In Cameroon, as in several African countries, young people represent the largest segment of the population. Their integration into political life can help strengthen governance and public management.
The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung has launched a call for applications in Cameroon for its Youth Leadership Forum, training on the themes of political leadership and communication. The program is aimed at young residents aged 18 to 35, with a university degree and involved in a project or initiative in civil society, a political party or a union.
Launched in 2012, it aims to strengthen the political participation of young men and women engaged in the political cause and public management in Cameroon. It also seeks to promote the values of democratic socialism, including freedom, justice and solidarity.
According to a report from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the participation of young Cameroonians in the political life of their country is timid. However, they represent a potential force whose political commitment would not fail to have a positive impact on public management and the future of the country.
The deadline for applications is December 15, 2024. All applicants must commit to participating in the entire program which will take place in person and online for 2 days at the end of each month from March to October 2025.
