Teulat. Photovoltaic panels on the church

Elected officials from the commune of Teulat, residents and members of the Ecot 81 cooperative gathered on Saturday morning in front of the Saint-Loup church. Very officially, they connected the photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of the place of worship to the network. A gesture that could be greeted with a round of applause, thus concluding a project launched more than a year ago.

Originally, Ecot 81 and the town hall had the plan to equip the school but the initiative could not materialize. It is therefore the church which hosted the panels which will provide electricity for the equivalent of the consumption of around ten people. “”There will be no loss in the network. All the kilowatts supplied will directly power the devices installed in houses around Pugnères, assures Patricia Bussone, president of Ecot 81. Citizen photovoltaics is that: investing locally to produce locally and consume locally.

The Tarn citizen cooperative is working for the energy transition. With the support of the Region and Adème, it supports self-consumption and renewable energy production initiatives by helping to install photovoltaic panels on the roofs of individuals, businesses or communities.

Around sixty residents have equipped themselves in the Tarn with the help of Ecot 81.

Teulat’s project concerning a commune or a society is the 3rd to see the light of day after the Rivatel honey farm in Giroussens, the Louisa-Paulin school in Saint-Sulpice. A new file is in progress with a former tavern in Graulhet.
