The richest man in the world seems to have the gift of ubiquity since the election of Donald Trump for a new term in the White House. Present in the family photos of the president-elect, on the line when the latter calls Volodymyr Zelensky or Aleksandar Vučić, the Serbian president, appointed head of the brand new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the boss of Tesla is everywhere. Latest interference in government affairs to date: a meeting with the Iranian ambassador in Washington, as revealed Thursday by New York Times. On the agenda: finding ways to reduce tensions between Tehran and the United States. A task that seems far from the scope of the tech entrepreneur, who himself would have called this meeting.

Since he committed himself body and soul to Donald Trump, Elon Musk has become much more than a simple financial supporter. He set up his America PAC, which he invested with millions of his own fortune, and got involved in the field, mainly in the pivotal state of Pennsylvania, with an influence difficult to quantify. During the campaign, the Republican had promised him many wonders, in particular to take care of massively downsizing the federal administration. It is clear that Donald Trump is for the moment keeping his promises to his most vocal support, who seems to be gradually transforming into a personal advisor.
