Seat continues its “Takata” recalls

If, in recent months, it is almost exclusively Citroën which has been in the news because of the endless problems caused by the airbags delivered by the former Japanese giant Takata, other manufacturers are still in the process of recalling vehicles to resolve this problem. The Spanish subsidiary of the Volkswagen group has therefore just launched a new salvo letters to several thousand of its customers.

In this case, for the French market, it is Leon and Altea belonging to the 2010 vintage which must be returned to the workshop. Among our Croatian, Danish, Hungarian, Slovenian and Swedish neighbors, this operation, which bears the reference 69GH, also concerns the large Alhambra minivan.

Experienced in operation

The incriminated models were produced from May 12, 2009 until May 1is June 2010. As we already reported regarding the 69EX recall, Seat did not tell us the number of vehicles affected. However, it could be around 10,000.

The brand promises, however, that the procedure will only take one hour. On the one hand, because network technicians are starting to know the procedure like the back of their hand. On the other hand becauseThis only involves working on the driver’s airbag.

This therefore assures us, in the coming months, a burst of additional recalls intended to replace the other defective cushions in these vehicles.
