The new salary survey conducted by UBS shows that Swiss companies are planning salary increases for next year. In the ICT sector, salaries are expected to increase more than average.
Swiss companies are planning salary increases for 2025. On average, salaries are expected to increase by 1.4% (without taking inflation into account), finds UBS in its new salary survey. The increase would thus be more marked than the average of around 1% over the last ten years.
Above-average salary increases in ICT
For the IT and telecommunications sector, UBS expects above-average salary increases. In both the ICT sector and the energy sector, the companies surveyed expect an increase of 2%.
The lowest increases are expected in the media sector, in the area of “building materials and materials” as well as in the retail trade. In these sectors, companies are forecasting increases of around 1%.
Planned wage increases in all 22 sectors exceed expected inflation by 0.7%. This should not take the elevator, according to UBS experts, in particular because of the fall in electricity prices and the expected reduction in the reference interest rate. In addition, the projected increases in real wages would favor consumption next year. An effect which would however be slightly dampened by the increase in health insurance premiums and the moderate rise in unemployment.
