NEW – The German manufacturer is launching a new brand for the Chinese market.

Above all, do not confuse: there is now Audi and AUDI. These two brands are related but to develop in China, the German manufacturer imagined that it would be necessary to remove any reference to the intertwined rings, including on the front, and write the brand in capital letters. Understand who can. Time will tell whether Audi was right to take this turn. In the meantime, the new brand will design, in cooperation with the Chinese group SAIC, a new generation of electric and connected vehicles capable of meeting the expectations of a younger clientele than anywhere else in the world.

The E concept is distinguished by very fluid shapes and a flat roof line.

Around a new, unique platform, AUDI and SAIC have developed the E concept which offers a preview of the first three models launched during 2025. These vehicles will invest in the mid-size and larger segments. Through this new brand, the German manufacturer is still targeting premium customers, which is confirmed by the care with which the lines and interior have been treated. Thanks to collaborative work between the two companies and greater use of digital technology, time to market was reduced by 30%. Reducing gestation times is poised to become one of the biggest challenges the automotive industry faces alongside electrification.

Fluid lines

Prefiguring the models of the AUDI brand, the E concept presents harmonious lines which clearly renew the genre of the Sportback sedan. The original stern is distinguished by a light signature surrounding the rear panel. Around a wheelbase of 2.95 m, the study presented in Shanghai measures 4.87 m long, 1.99 m wide and 1.46 m high.

The manufacturer announces a range of 700 km for this vehicle equipped with a 100 kWh battery operating at 800 volts. Result: 10 minutes of charging is enough to recover 370 km of range.

On board, all the controls have disappeared.

Inside, designed by the Chinese style office in Beijing, no one will be surprised to find a panoramic screen covering the entire width of the dashboard like on the Honda e. The AUDI concept succumbs to Tesla tradition by removing all buttons and other controls. Warm and bright, this interior incorporates illuminated wood and microfiber in the doors as well as a panoramic glass roof.
