Founded on November 19, 1974, Développement Économique Sept-Îles celebrates 50 years of canvassing for the growth of the city. The municipal corporation maintains the same mission of promoting development, helping promoters of business projects of all sizes and ultimately improving the quality of life in Sept-Îles.

The organization played a key role in the economic transformation of Sept-Îles, supporting diversification after the great crisis in the iron industry. She has supported several start-ups, notably the birth of Aluminerie Alouette, and the expansion of local businesses.

A cocktail at the Sept-Îles marina took place on Thursday to celebrate the 50the birthday. This event brought together many guests, including current members and former administrators. The Director General of DÉSI, Paul Lavoie, proudly highlighted past achievements and the challenges overcome.

“As we celebrate 50 years of success, we remain resolutely focused on the future, ready to innovate and grow further,” said Mr. Lavoie.
