The airline pilots' union is calling a strike on Thursday, November 14 to protest against the increase in air transport tax.
The airline sector is up against the 2025 budget. The government is threatening to take an additional billion euros per year from airlines from January 1. A tax deemed unsustainable for the industry by the national union of airline pilots. “This increase will put our airline in the red in a large number of markets.”alerts Patrick Arpino, vice-president of the national union of airline pilots.
For its part, the government defends this tax increase as a contribution to restoring the state's accounts, but also for environmental reasons. The union fears that this additional imposition will lead to the elimination of tens of thousands of jobs in France. He therefore calls for a strike on Thursday November 14 and a rally in front of the National Assembly after the vote of the deputies.
