Kavango launches first drilling on Karakubis targets

Kavango Resources PLC – a London-based metals exploration company focused on Botswana – begins drilling its first priority targets at the Karakubis copper project in the Kalahari copper belt, which extends from northeastern Botswana west of Namibia. The company identifies 15 high priority targets for this first phase, “all located above interpreted double-plunging fold structures on gravity heights where associated faults are considered favorable for trap site development.” The surveys are intended to verify favorable trap sites, confirm stratigraphy and assess the potential for large-scale copper and silver mineralization. Kavango plans to identify additional targets once it has completed data processing of the study’s initial results.

Ben Turney, Managing Director, said: “This is the most sophisticated drilling campaign Kavango has ever undertaken…Assembling the first 15 high priority drilling targets has been a superb team effort and we are confident in the work we have accomplished.

He continues: “Our immediate goal now is to test these likely trap sites and prove that copper mineralizing fluids have passed through our soil. If we succeed, it will be a transformative event for Kavango shareholders.”
