During the BTC Prague conference, T-Mobile announced its intention to launch into Bitcoin mining! Thus marking a significant advancement in its crypto-based activities. This news reinforces the company’s position as a major player in Web3!
Bitcoin Mining: T-Mobile leads the way in innovation!
Since 2023, T-Mobile has operated a Bitcoin node and managed nodes of the Bitcoin Lightning Network. Dirk Röder, head of Web3 infrastructure and solutions at T-Mobile, highlighted the importance of what he called “digital monetary photosynthesis.” This metaphor illustrates the company’s ability to generate value in the digital ecosystem, just as plants produce oxygen and energy from sunlight.
Bitcoin mining by T-Mobile could have a huge impact on the crypto market. But also on the acceptance of blockchain as a viable technology for large companies. As one of 100 validators on Polygon’s Proof of Stake (PoS) network, T-Mobile has already demonstrated its commitment to blockchain and crypto development.
A big step for the telecoms sector!
