The National Rally, if it comes to power after the legislative elections, intends to “ultimately” privatize public broadcasting, Jordan Bardella confirmed this Sunday.

Jordan Bardella confirmed on Sunday that he wanted to “eventually” privatize public broadcasting if the RN comes to power after the legislative elections.

“The ambition that we had for the presidential election remains relevant, that of ultimately privatizing public broadcasting to save money (…) Obviously, that cannot be done in 24 hours,” declared Jordan Bardella on France 3.

Unemployment insurance reform

Referring to one of the other measures considered by the RN, if it wins the legislative elections, Jordan Bardella also declared that his party would remove the unemployment insurance reform, which the government plans to bring into force at the end of the year.

“There are millions of French people who are affected by unemployment […]. I’m a little tired of systematically asking for the same efforts,” he said.

The new unemployment insurance reform must be decided by decree by July 1 to come into force on December 1. It notably includes a reduced compensation period of 18 to 15 months.
