This young company is unveiling its solution this Thursday, which makes it possible to create software in a few hours using artificial intelligence. Large multinationals have already tested it in advance.

It all starts, once again, with ChatGPT. “As soon as the OpenAI tool came out, I had fun with it. But I realized that he couldn’t completely replace me, so I trained him on how to manage complex software. I created my first tools with » explains Soufiane Amar, the founder of the start-up Shreds.AI. Over the last fifteen years, the man has worked as a technical architect and developer for large groups such as Enedis, Total, AXA and Bouygues Telecom.

With a simple description of a few lines, Shreds.AI claims to be able to generate computer code called “complex”, that is to say which contains a multitude of components and interactions. And this, in record time: between 45 minutes and an hour and a half, while such a project usually takes several months to be developed. The Parisian start-up prides itself on having already had its solution tested by major manufacturers, including the automotive group Stellantis, which owns Peugeot, Opel and Citroën, as well as the electricity transmission manager RTE.

Service for professionals

We now know that AI can considerably facilitate the daily lives of many professions. And particularly in IT. For developers, it can automate some simple parts of writing software code, so they can focus on more specific and precise coding. But Shreds.AI goes further. The start-up founded in 2023 was with a specific goal: to save professionals time and money.

“SMBs and large companies want complicated custom software that takes years and lots of resources, while the development industry is under constant stress,” supports Soufiane Amar. “A project that usually takes 6 months, Shreds.AI can do it in 2 weeks. Thanks to AI, my working days end at noon. Shreds.AI would therefore already be capable of designing software for e-commerce platforms, banks, the energy sector, communications, or tech start-ups… An audience that it is particularly targeting. Oriented towards professionals, the platform requires knowledge of software architecture. It is therefore not intended for laymen.

“The solution integrates Meta-AI for the first time, meaning it is trained to use other AIs. It is connected to more than 8 different models”including generative AI capable of creating pieces of code such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini or the Mistral AI chatbot, and others specialized in specific areas to create “microservices”, explains Soufiane Amar, who is surrounded by three developers and technical staff. Shreds.AI assures that its solution can “reduce development costs by 90%”. Companies that want to use Shreds.AI must go through a system of credits, called “Shred Coins”virtual coins paid with real currency.

Validated by human hand

Could AI soon replace developers? Soufiane Amar refutes. “All code must be validated by human hand”, he insists. Via a marketplace integrated into the platform, client companies are put in contact with developers, capable of manually validating or making corrections to the code generated by AI. “The developer can, for example, offer to check the code in 3 hours for 150 euros. They are chosen based on their experience and evaluations for their previous services.” For the founder, the calculation is simple: more validated codes, equals more software created, and therefore greater remuneration for the developer. “All while working from home.” Shreds.AI then receives a commission on the transaction carried out.

The Shreds.AI marketplace allows a company to choose a developer to verify AI-generated software code.

And the young Parisian company is opening its doors internationally. It is possible for large French groups to set their sights on a Portuguese, Spanish or American developer for example. On the contrary, if a French company only wishes to collaborate with a French professional, particularly for security reasons, it is also possible for it to filter or have a confidentiality agreement signed. In order to avoid the disclosure or sharing of sensitive information, such as software code… a very valuable element, particularly protected by law. The future for Shreds.AI? Self-financed by Soufiane Amar since its beginnings, the start-up does not rule out carrying out in the coming months “a first fundraiser”.
