The medical student and researcher at Columbia University Benjamin Vermette, who does not like to “attribute too much value to the promises” of the different candidates during an election, assured during an interview with LCN that he pays particular attention to their balance sheets over recent years.

According to him, the economic legacy of the Democratic administration is bleak.

“So, if we look, for example, at the economy with Donald Trump in 2016, the economic figures are clear, it is Trump’s advantage at this level, compared to Biden, where inflation reached its highest level in 40 years,” he argued.

Amélie Dubois, a resident of Florida, also chose to support Donald Trump’s clan.

“I remember what life was like four years ago, and what life was like the last four years with Kamala Harris as vice president, and for me the best choice was to go back with Trump,” he said. -she pleaded.

Democrats “more mobilized than ever”

Democratic voters are not afraid to show their colors publicly, said Nicole Gagnon, a resident of North Carolina.

“I saw more signs this year than I did four years ago,” she described.

The latter also felt that the teams of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris were more on the ground to meet the voters of this pivotal state.

“I was really contacted by telephone and door-to-door. I really felt that there was a difference between this year and 2020,” she added.

Charles Saint-Maurice, a Florida resident, also noted this craze. He believes it was the issue of abortion that mobilized the troops.

“The women were very mobilized. They did an excellent job. There was volunteering everywhere. Today I received a text from the Kamala Harris campaign [qui encourageait les gens à aller voter]. They organized this very seriously to get out the vote today. That’s really what makes the difference,” he explained.
