The Friborg energy company Groupe E is taking over its subsidiaries S. Roubaty and FTH Services, as part of a resizing of its fiber optic activities. The decision involves, at the start of a consultation procedure until November 25, the elimination of 69 positions or 67.2 full-time equivalents.
Citing sluggish demand for the Technical and Infrastructure subdivision in the Jura Arc, Groupe E adds that it has terminated the contracts of nine employees in this segment.
The financial results of the two subsidiaries being closed are “insufficient”, underlines the company in a press release on Tuesday. The complete cessation of activity of the two companies is scheduled for December 31, 2025. Discussions are underway to reclassify some of the employees concerned.
Fixnet is not affected
S. Roubaty, based in Rossens, works in the construction and maintenance of cabled telecommunications networks. FTH Services, located in Romanel-sur-Lausanne, specializes in fiber optic networks. Both operate mainly in French-speaking Switzerland.
Integrated within the group, the Fixnet entity is not affected by this reduction in size, nor is fttf fr, a joint venture between the State of Friborg and electricity distributors.
