Customers have received an empty box with the tab removed and packaged in a Canada Post bag with an apology for the condition in which the package was delivered.

The newspaper reported on Friday two cases which occurred in particular in the Stoneham and Deschambault sector.

René Hamel, a citizen of Deschambault, purchased a Signature Zone pass for the sum of $640. This week, a Canada Post mail carrier delivered him a package that was supposed to contain his purchase.

His box was in a small plastic bag from Canada Post apologizing for the damaged package. The content was missing.

At the post office in his area, they explained to him that Canada Post is obliged to deliver packages, regardless of the condition in which they are found.

“We can confirm that the Deschambault post office followed our procedures when receiving opened mail prior to delivery. We are still conducting an internal investigation to better understand what happened,” says Valérie Chartrand, spokesperson for Canada Post.

A second case was reported by Martin Trudel, of Stoneham, who purchased two Signature passes for $1,300. The passes were not in his package.

The spokesperson suggests that people who encounter problems with the delivery of their package contact Canada Post customer service.
