Fontenais Town Hall: our debate

Two candidates are aiming to succeed Yves Petignat, who resigned for family reasons, at Fontenais town hall: Victor Egger (PS) and Fabrice Briot (Centre-Right Alliance) both already sitting on the Municipal Council. Three weeks before the election which will take place on Sunday November 24, RFJ brought together the two contenders this Monday morning for a debate live from the “Boulangerie du Château” located at the entrance to the village. If their political labels leave voters with a choice between left and right, Victor Egger and Fabrice Briot share a number of ideas and observations on most major issues.

They thus discussed the challenge of maintaining the current dynamism of the three villages of Fontenais – Villars-sur-Fontenais – Bressaucourt despite very limited investment possibilities. The municipality is in fact still in debt to the tune of nearly 18 million francs, with amortization amounting to around 700,000 francs each year. The two candidates also raised the theme of merger after the abandonment in 2023 of a merger project with Porrentruy. /jpi-gtr
