Motorists used to BP stations could save a few cents on their next fill-up. Due to the non-renewal of the contract between the British oil giant British Petroleum (BP) and the British manager Euro Garages (EG Group), some 254 service stations in France will change fuel supplier, reports The Parisian.

It is Esso, a brand of the American group ExxonMobil, which will now be in charge of almost all the stations. In fact, some will be permanently closed, because of a “ trademark conflict », Explained Selim Maraslioglu, the France director of EG, to Le Parisien. “ That is to say when there are two Esso stations nearby, sometimes 30 meters from each other, we close one of them. This will only concern three or four stations. »

A little cheaper fuel

Another change, less visible but clearly perceptible for motorists: fuel prices could see a slight drop. While BP stations mostly had higher prices per liter than the competition, the bill should soften for future Esso stations. “ We will be on the prices of our competitors such as those of Total Access and supermarkets », Said Selim Maraslioglu.
