A new store has permanently lowered its grille at the Colombia Rennes shopping center. Arriving in the shopping mall in 2021, Hubside Store, a store specializing in reconditioned multimedia, closed its doors at the end of April.

As previously revealed by Le Télégramme, the store was the target of a fraud repression investigation for deceptive commercial practices after several complaints. Many customers had notably denounced “abusive bank debits” after having taken out insurance or loyalty subscriptions. When contacted, management did not respond to explain the reasons for this closure.

Towards the end for Hubside Store?

The Hubside Store brand – which has closed dozens of points of sale throughout France in recent weeks – is playing its survival at the commercial court in Paris this Wednesday, May 22 after the request for judicial liquidation issued by the Paris public prosecutor’s office at the beginning of the month. Three other companies in the Indexia group, Hubside’s parent company, are also affected.

This insurance brokerage company, which belongs to billionaire Sadri Fegaier, has already seen its historic entity SFAM placed in compulsory liquidation at the end of April at the request of Urssaf, which demanded nearly 12 million euros in debts from it. Another trial for deceptive commercial practices also awaits the company and its numerous subsidiaries following a broad investigation by fraud prevention. It will take place before the Paris Criminal Court from September 23 to October 2, 2024
