It’s a meeting immutable of the calendar of Parisian salons. Every two years, the main manufacturers flock to the Porte de Versailles, in Paris, to present their new products. This year will be no exception to the rule. THE Mondial de l’auto opens its doors this Monday, October 14, 2024, in the 15th arrondissement of the capital, in a space of 85 000 m2 spread over six halls. Here’s what to expect for this 90th edition.
A dark time
The days of celebrating the car are over. Regularly pinned for its impact environnemental, the automobile sector must also face a decline in its activity. According to figures published last September by the Automobile Platform (PFA), the number of registrations fell by 11 % in one year.
The manufacturer Stellarwhich markets five French brands, including Citroën and Peugeotsaw its market share decline. Same observation for the Renault group. Despite this context, the two behemoths will be present at the Auto Show.
Peugeot will thus have the opportunity to present its new 3008 and 5008 models, while its competitor will highlight the Dacia, Renault, Alpine, Mobilize and Renault Pro + cars. In total, more than 50 builders European, Americans et Asian announced their presence. On the other hand, the giants Toyota et Mercedes will not be represented.
An exhibition rhyming with the 7th art
Cinema and the automobile have often danced the waltz, carrying a powerful imagination. The organizers have thus imagined an exhibition highlighting models appearing in films or series cults.

If the previous edition resulted in low participation, of the order of 400,000 visitorsfar from the million reached in the 2010s, the organization wishes to increase the number of participants.
They will have to pay 18 € per week, until Friday October 18, before paying 22 € on Saturday October 19 and Sunday October 20, the closing date of the gathering. For children, the price is 10 € during the week at 12 € on weekends.
