Mining industry: promising update for Aterian

Aterian plc has announced promising results for its Jebilet Est copper project, located 35 km northeast of Marrakech. These advances reinforce the company’s previous discoveries and strengthen the development prospects of this 736 km² site, located in the heart of the Marrakech-Safi region, a historic mining district of the Kingdom.

Aterian plc continues its exploration efforts in Morocco, with a promising update on its Jebilet Est copper project. Located 35 km northeast of Marrakech, in the Marrakech-Safi region, this project covers an area of 736 km² and benefits from a strategic location close to transport infrastructure, including the railway line linking Marrakech to Casablanca. Recent work carried out by Aterian has made it possible to discover several new mineralized zones.

Among the most notable results, a 9.25% copper sample was taken from a previously unexplored area. This discovery adds to previous analyses, which had already revealed high copper contents on the site. This work also highlighted newly identified quartz-carbonate veins, some of which show significant copper mineralization with grades up to 2.09% and 0.88%.

The Jebilet Est project stands out for its geological potential, particularly for deposits of volcanic massive sulphides and base metals. Aterian holds a 100% interest in this project located in the Jebilet massif, an area recognized for its wealth in base metals and copper. Recent discoveries have mapped and extended existing quartz-carbonate vein systems for a lateral distance of up to 3.25 km, with outcrops observed in areas of low ground cover.

One of the highlights of this exploration phase is the acquisition of an Overhauser magnetometer from GEM Systems, intended for carrying out a ground magnetic survey on identified priority targets. Scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024, this survey will be carried out by a team of experts, allowing Aterian to better understand the underlying geology and target areas with high mineral potential.

At the same time, the company continues to focus on three new target areas. The first presents quartz-carbonate veins with grades reaching 2.09% copper, over a length of 450 meters. The second target is characterized by the sample of 9.25% copper taken from an isolated outcrop. Finally, the third target revealed lower mineralization indices, but presents interesting potential for future drilling campaigns.

Thanks to these advances, Aterian strengthens its position in the mining sector and confirms the potential of Jebilet Est as a site of strategic importance. By relying on modern prospecting techniques and an experienced team, the company intends to maximize the site’s resources while contributing to the mining dynamism of the Marrakech-Safi region.

The Jebilet East project joins other Aterian initiatives in the country, including the Jafra silver lead project, located just 14 km south of the site. Together, these projects demonstrate the company’s commitment to investing in Morocco’s mineral potential and playing a key role in the development of the Kingdom’s natural resources.
