The Casablanca Stock Exchange closes in the red at the last minute

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed at the last minute in the red, Monday, after having progressed during almost the entire session, the index of all values, MASI, losing 0.07% to 14,156.87 points (pts).

The MASI.20, an index bringing together the 20 most liquid stocks, decreased by 0.26% to 1,137.91 pts, while the MASI.ESG, an index of companies with the best ESG rating according to Moody’s ESG Solutions, increased. stabilized at 1,016.45 pts.

Concerning the MASI Mid and Small Cap, the thematic index evaluating the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, it fell by 0.17% to 1,349.79 pts.

Internationally, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid fell, respectively, by 0.12% to 13,367.82 pts and by 0.18% to 11,861.50 pts.

At the sectoral level, the largest declines were recorded by the “Transport” (-2.97%), “Leisure and hotels” (-2.70%) and “Forestry and paper” (-2.33%) indices. .

On the other hand, the electricity sector (+6.04%) achieved the largest increase, followed by the holding company sectors (+2.69%) and the agri-food/production sector (+ 2.51%).

The overall volume of trade reached 212.13 million dirhams (MDH), carried out entirely on the Central market (Stocks), and dominated by transactions on Taqa Morocco (35.97 MDH), Jet Contractors (29.96 MDH) and Attijariwafa Bank (24.44 MDH).

The market capitalization exceeded 731.09 billion dirhams.

On an individual level, the largest declines were recorded by Promopharm SA (-5.93% to 1,016 DH), SM Monétique (-4.76% to 220 DH), Zellidja SA (-4.55% to 126 DH ), Mechanical Achievements (-4.51% to 444 DH) and Afric Industries SA (-3.39% to 305 DH).

On the other hand, BMCI (+7.72% to 600 DH), Taqa Morocco (+6.04% to 1,580 DH), Balima (+5.34% to 230 DH), Cosumar (+4.23% to 197 DH ) and Jet Contractors (+3.43% to 1,205 DH) posted the best performances.
