“I affirm that Emmanuel Macron and Bruno Le Maire did not tell us everything. All this will end up looking like a very big state lie” is how Jean-François Husson (formerly Les Républicains), general rapporteur of the Senate Finance Committee (source Obs) expresses it.

It is therefore a gigantic mystification that took place from the first days of Macron’s five-year term. Everyone knew since a note from the General Directorate of the Treasury dated July 11, 2023, that the public accounts deficit would be greater than 5%. Bruno Le Maire still dared to assert on September 9: “we will be able to meet the objective of a deficit of 5.1%”. The new Minister of Public Accounts, Laurent Saint Martin, admitted on September 25: “The truth is that in 2024, the public deficit risks exceeding 6%”. In other words, the 2024 deficit will exceed 170 billion Euros…

A Bercy advisor states: “from 2022, Emmanuel Macron let his Prime Ministers take out the checkbook (Obs)… Uncontrolled spending, missing revenue, the deficit could only widen.

Who benefited from the biggest checks? Public services, education, health, no! Civil servants, no! Retirees, no! So who? A 2024 study by the Institute of Economic and Social Research (Ires) and Clersé (group of researchers from the University of ) tells us that public aid to private companies amounted to 200 billion euros, without real counterpart. These 200 billion are divided into several parts: 20% in direct subsidies, 40% tax and social exemptions, 40% tax loopholes…. The study specifies that in the absence of social and regulatory conditions, companies did what they wanted with this money. Multinationals and very large companies have not been deprived of it!

To reduce the deficit, the new Prime Minister is proposing solutions of the same nature as his predecessors: picking the pockets of retirees, sacrificing public services, barely making a scratch on the wealthy (on an “exceptional and temporary basis,” he specifies). , and above all to manage an entrepreneurial system dependent on addiction and an infusion of public money which knows perfectly well how to handle relocation and employment blackmail.

Political facet of this deplorable situation: imagine for a single moment that this deficit is the result of a policy led by a president and a left-wing government… All the wolves of the center, the right and the extreme right, now united for not to censor the new government, would shout in the public square. We know perfectly well, here and elsewhere, all the verses of the lying fable which consists of discrediting left-wing management and accusing them without any proof, while adorning oneself with the merits of know-how and good management. We see the results!…

Faced with this situation of abysmal debt and record deficit in public accounts at all levels (State, regions, departments, cities), citizens can mobilize to defend their rights, they can wait until the next elections, they can also demand the whole truth about the use of their money, by requesting a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry which would bring together elected officials representing all groups in the National Assembly and the Senate with power of control over all public accounts, ministry by ministry and on the Financial Inspection bodies, with power of direct citation and public hearings. The law allows it, girl!
