Nearly 13 years after its presentation, this old Fisker will once again be marketed in Europe

In the midst of setbacks with his company Fisker Inc. despite an endearing Ocean and a certain product potential, Henrik Fisker is not his first attempt. As early as 2011, the Danish designer marketed the Fisker Karma, a large luxury sedan with a plug-in hybrid engine, which was then readily compared to the Tesla Model S. Unfortunately, the two models did not have the same destiny, and the Karma died out the following year and less than 3,000 copies were produced. It was then that the Chinese group Wanxiang bought the dying brand, and renamed it Karma Automotive, perpetuating the marketing of the sedan under the name Revero in North America.

This time it’s the right one!

This is therefore the latest iteration of this sedan which will arrive on a certain number of European markets – including Belgium – by the summer, under the leadership of the Dutch importer Kroymans. Let’s hope that this time is the good one, since this return planned in 2019 had been thwarted by the Covid pandemic in 2020 which had damaged the manufacturer. For the moment, Karma does not say much more on the technical level, and we therefore do not know what modifications will be made. If we stick to the figures for the latest version sold across the Atlantic, the car should be capable of driving for nearly 100 km on its battery-powered electric motor alone, before handing over to the 1.5l 3 engine. cylinders from BMW. The total combined power reaching 536 horsepower!

Not for everybody

If the success of the Revero is there, Karma already has other major projects, with the clear ambition of being “leader in the future market of ultra-luxury vehicles”. Indeed, the Revero does not aim to be popular: “The Karma is not intended for the mass market. Only a privileged few will have the opportunity to own a Karma, and when they do, they will not “They won’t feel like they’re making compromises” assures Marques McCammon, president of the brand. If the prices are not yet known, it is clear that the car will not be within the reach of all budgets. The old one already cost nearly €100,000… ten years ago.

Two other models are already in preparation: the Kaveya coupe, and the Gyesera, an all-electric version with a revised design of this Revero.
