UA municipal agent of the City of Grenoble died on Sunday, September 8 after being hit by gunfire in the morning. A man opened fire after causing a traffic accident in the center of Grenoble and shot the municipal employee before fleeing, according to the public prosecutor Éric Vaillant.
Municipal officer allegedly tried to prevent accident perpetrator from fleeing
At around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, an Audi RS3 with a Polish license plate and driving “at high speed,” according to the prosecutor’s office, hit a car stopped at a red light. The driver of the Audi, drunk, according to the same source, then tried to flee. A passerby tried to stop him and a city sanitation worker got out of his vehicle to help him, a police source told Agence France-Presse.
The person responsible for the accident then shot the municipal employee twice, according to Grenoble prosecutor Eric Vaillant. Two 9 mm caliber cartridges were found at the scene, a police source added.

The victim is 49 years old and the father of two children.
