Expanding global dialogue with the largest collection of translated works

RIYADHSaudi Arabia, October 6, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -The Commission for Literature, Publishing and Translation, part of the Saudi Ministry of Culture, revealed that the Riyadh Book Fair 2024 is its largest edition to date, showcasing a diverse range of translated international books. The 2024 edition of the fair stands out for welcoming thinkers, intellectuals and world figures from literature, art and knowledge, who share their ideas and successes with the public. Among the main speakers are Fareed Zakariaacclaimed media personality and author, Walter Isaacsonworld-renowned biographer, poet and writer Kwame Alexander and the acclaimed novelist Jonathan Franzen. The fair also features prominent literary and artistic figures from the Middle East.

This year also marks the return of the popular initiative “Riyadh Reads French”, in which several French publishers participate. The Riyadh International Book Fair plays a key role in supporting the cultural goals of Saudi Vision 2030, contributing to the Kingdom’s cultural economy, which is expected to reach $9.3 billion. Attracting more than a million visitors per year, it is among the best-selling book fairs in the Arab world.
