For several years, the “1 hour/1 book” event has enabled the rich collections of the library to enhance the rich collections. January 30 at 6:00 p.m., then February 5 at 5:00 p.m. (by reservation), a great diversity of documents will be presented: prints, old games, almanacs, religious images …

A Cartier?

“Manufacturers of card games were often publishers of religious images,” explains the study and conservation library. The opportunity to see in particular old playing cards. Daily objects rarely preserved in archive deposits.

All documents presented were produced from the same technique: wood engraving. “Two families in Besançon practiced this technique. The Tissot family and the Sainte-Agathe family, ”adds the library. Game of Thrones on display

In parallel, Fans of Game of Thrones will be delighted to learn that the 1is February (3:00 pm), at the Pierre Bayle media library, “1 hour/1 book” will relate to “the iron throne in medieval manuscripts”. The opportunity to understand the links between George RR Martin and the Chronicles of Jehan Froissart (14th century). Good discovery!
