A Cartier?
“Manufacturers of card games were often publishers of religious images,” explains the study and conservation library. The opportunity to see in particular old playing cards. Daily objects rarely preserved in archive deposits.
All documents presented were produced from the same technique: wood engraving. “Two families in Besançon practiced this technique. The Tissot family and the Sainte-Agathe family, ”adds the library. It will be an opportunity to take an interest in these craftsmen, in the workshops, in the way in which religious images were sold … in the end, which once existed in Besançon.

In parallel, Fans of Game of Thrones will be delighted to learn that the 1is February (3:00 pm), at the Pierre Bayle media library, “1 hour/1 book” will relate to “the iron throne in medieval manuscripts”. The opportunity to understand the links between George RR Martin and the Chronicles of Jehan Froissart (14th century). Good discovery!
