The Jaecoo 7 PHEV marks the arrival of an ambitious brand in the plug-in hybrid SUV segment. This model, offered at a competitive price of €28,000, aims to attract customers looking for innovation and accessible performance. Coming from a booming Asian manufacturer, the Jaecoo 7 combines modern features and advanced technologies, while targeting an increasingly demanding European clientele.
Positioned among compact SUVs, the Jaecoo 7 directly competes with models like the Toyota RAV4 PHEV or the Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid. However, its aggressive price and generous standard equipment give it a clear competitive advantage, particularly among drivers sensitive to value for money.
Bold design and sophisticated interior
The exterior design of Jaecoo 7 demonstrates a bold and modern approach. With its imposing grille, clean lines and distinctive alloy wheels, this SUV asserts a robust and elegant character. Details like slim LED lights and chrome finishes accentuate its premium look, immediately catching the eye.

Inside, the Jaecoo 7's cabin does not disappoint. The materials used combine synthetic leather, soft-touch plastics and chrome elements, offering a premium atmosphere. The SUV is also equipped with cutting-edge in-car technology: an intuitive central touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity and an immersive audio setup. Everything is designed to maximize comfort and practicality, whether for daily commutes or long journeys.
Performance and energy efficiency
The Jaecoo 7 PHEV is distinguished by its son plug-in hybrid power system designed to meet the needs of modern drivers. Under the hood, it combines an efficient thermal engine with a powerful electric motor, offering a total power of 258 horsepower. This configuration allows dynamic driving while maintaining reduced fuel consumption.
But the real advantage of the Jaecoo 7 lies in its impressive electric autonomy: up to 90 kilometers in 100% electric mode, a figure that exceeds many competitors in the market. This SUV is ideal for emission-free urban journeys, while offering great versatility thanks to its thermal engine for long journeys. Its battery, rechargeable at home or at a public terminal, guarantees fast charging times for practical and flexible use.
-Good performance for this efficient Jaecoo 7
In the end, the Jaecoo 7 is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds, or 2.3 seconds less than the Jaecoo 7 equipped with the 1.6 TGDI engine which, for its part, has to make do with a power of 147 hp and a torque of 275 Nm. But like the latter, the plug-in hybrid reaches a maximum speed of 180 km/h, although it returns an average consumption of just 1.0 l/100 km, a figure well below the 7.5 l/100 km achieved with the aforementioned 1.6 TGDI when equipped with front-wheel drive. With all-wheel drive, this figure increases to 8.0 l/100 km.
Record sobriety and great price: The Japanese hybrid SUV that changes the game in 2025
In addition to its performance, efficiency and excellent equipment, the Jaecoo 7 has a spacious interior, but in the case of this new plug-in hybrid, the Chinese brand has not revealed the trunk capacity, which could be reduced by the arrival of the battery. While waiting for this figure, a “normal” front-wheel drive car has a capacity of 424 liters. And it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that this plug-in hybrid makes do with the 340 liters it claims when equipped with the four-wheel drive system. In this case, it is not among the best in the segment.
Without discounts or subsidies, this Jaecoo 7 is offered from 38,482 euros.
This is the Select finish, which already includes standard equipment such as 19-inch rims, a surround-view system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.8-inch touchscreen and dual-zone air conditioning, to name just a few. Above, the Executive finish adds power-adjustable leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, panoramic roof, hands-free tailgate, wireless charger, heated steering wheel and head-up display. However, moving from the Select version to the Executive version requires an additional 4,400 euros.
Because so that you can take this into account, without counting the brand discounts or the various aids from the Moves plan, this Jaecoo 7 with plug-in hybrid mechanics costs 38,482 euros in Select finish and 42,900 euros in Executive finish. This is significantly more than the 31,905 euros from which it starts with the familiar 1.6 TGDI engine with which it has been sold until now.
7 year warranty and an additional year for the electrical part
The same is not true for the warranty, because the Chinese manufacturer is so confident in the Jaecoo 7 that it offers a warranty of 7 years or 150,000 kilometers. There battery and mechanical components are insured for 8 years or 160,000 kilometers.
