The artist Nathalie Magrou, well known to the Ossalois and Béarnais, will be signing this Saturday, January 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the La Curieuse bookstore, for a “seasonal” work, the very beautiful book “Le blanc de l ‘winter’, published by Éditions Gypaète.
This will be an opportunity to discover, or rediscover, the talents of this watercolorist whose footsteps and brushes have been roaming the landscapes of the Ossau valley for several years now.
“Having a sketchbook, a box of watercolors, brushes and pencils in your backpack gives you an alibi for walks, wanderings, daydreams lying face down in the grass,” writes Nathalie Magrou.
An ode to nature
In “The White of Winter”, the short texts, like haikus (short Japanese poems), resonate with the watercolor plates from which emerge sometimes a fox, sometimes a flock of chocards, sometimes a flock of chamois. Working with delicacy and finesse the shades of white, gray and blue, Nathalie Magrou weaves page after page an ode to nature. A great opportunity to start the year smoothly!
