After two autobiographical books, Michel Ucciani, the ex-robber based in Mèze, launches into crime fiction

The Corsican Michel Ucciani, settled in Mèze after an eventful legal life, has just published On the Paths of Bad Life, his first thriller.

It was already in the works when Corsica was released from prison, his work published in 2023 on his life in jail. This is his second book on his life between the Corsican independence fight and the robberies in which he made his specialty. Michel Ucciani, based in Mèze for several years, has just published his first thriller.

For once I wasn’t writing about something real

“It wasn’t easyslips the author of On the paths of a bad life (in Corsica), or On the paths of bad life (in French) because, for once, I wasn’t writing about something real. My experience of prison and robberies was useful for the first pages but the rest of the story takes place elsewhere and on other themes. Sometimes it was a little too exaggerated, a little too romanticized.”

A text in the image of man

Throughout these approximately 230 pages, we follow the adventures of the Corsican Ange Colonna (he has the same last name as Yvan, the great friend of Michel Ucciani) who meets, in prison, a godfather of the Cosa Ours. This man, following a failed murder attempt in jail, owes his life to the young man. Once freed, he makes him his secret henchman. An ideal element to remove this or that person wanting to take a little too much power or hindering the business of this sponsor. A text in the image of man. Clear, without embellishments, respectful of the word given, faithful in friendship.

A sequel already launched

“The first feedback is good, comments Michel Ucciani which was published by a Corsican house. She’s the one who distributes the book on the Island and I take care of the continent.”he explains. Meetings with readers should soon be on his agenda. The author can then tell them that he is already working on a sequel.
