Green MP Sandrine Rousseau was interviewed by the Crime Repression Brigade for people with suspect status in the investigation into her domicile in in the context of the legislative elections in 2022.

The environmentalist MP Sandrine Rousseau was heard in a free hearing on Friday January 10 at the Brigade for the Repression of Personal Delinquency, in the investigation into her domicile in Paris as part of the nominations for the legislative elections in 2022. The elected official was heard following the denunciation of lawyer Gilles-William Goldnadel.

The public prosecutor's office, which confirmed the information to AFP, indicated that it had “had the procedure transmitted to it for assessment of the direction to be given to it”.

Sandrine Rousseau contests any infringement

In June 2023, an investigation was opened after the complaint by environmental activist Claire Monod against the registration of Sandrine Rousseau on the electoral lists in Paris. Claire Monod's candidacy was rejected in favor of that of Sandrine Rousseau.

The investigation concerns the offense of “undue registration on an electoral list by fraudulent declaration”, an offense punishable by one year of imprisonment, recalled the prosecution.

Sandrine Rousseau provided the town hall of the 13th arrondissement with a certificate of insurance for housing in which she did not live in March 2022, three days before the closing of registrations on the electoral lists and the validation of her party's nominations.

This document was established by an acquaintance at the request of Sandrine Rousseau, it was specified in Claire Monod's complaint. The prosecution tells BFMTV that Sandrine Rousseau produced insurance certificates and electricity bills for successive homes, loaned then acquired, in the 13th arrondissement. The prosecution has had the procedure sent to it for assessment of the direction to be given to it.

“There was a plan to sublet because it was a furnished apartment” but “finally, I settled in an unfurnished apartment because subletting was not possible,” she defended. in April 2023 the environmentalist MP. “As there was a closing of the electoral lists, I bet on this sublet, yes,” she admitted.
