Two D1B clubs came to the news for one of the new faces of Standard, the player has made his decision – All football

Players lacking playing time in first division clubs can be great opportunities for D1B teams. But in recent weeks, the situation has evolved for Daan Dierckx.

Arrived at Standard from Parma a year and a half ago, Daan Dierckx probably expected to play more in recent months. Part of SL 16 alongside Matthieu Epolo, Ibe Hautekiet and Henry Lawrence last season, he did not receive the same opportunities as his teammates in the first team.

On the bench during the first part of the season, he even returned twice with SL 16 in D1 ACFF, although he has seven Serie A matches to his credit.

His patience finally rewarded

But the numerous injuries that hit the defensive sector ended up opening the doors to the basic eleven. After a convincing comeback against La Gantoise, he was started twice by Ivan Leko, with two clean sheets.

According to Sacha Tavolieri, the performance once again full of personality from the 21-year-old defender against Kortrijk awakened the interest of the RWDM these last few hours. The RAAL also thought about the profile of the player trained in Genk.

But Dierckx would have made the decision to stay at Standard, not to leave when it finally seems to be launched. Even if the competition promises to be stronger in the coming months (notably with the arrival of Attila Szalai), the Louvaniste is determined to fight for his place.
