On the occasion of the first metropolitan council of the year 2025, firefighters are calling for a demonstration on Monday January 27 in front of the Lyon Metropolis.
This is a first metropolitan council which already promises to be tense between the representatives of the firefighters and the elected officials of the Metropolis of Lyon. On Monday January 27, firefighters, on indefinite strike since October 1, planned to demonstrate in front of the Hôtel de Métropole.
A call for a rally was launched by the trade union organizations at 6 a.m. while the Metropolitan Council will begin today at 9:30 a.m.
If the vote on the 2025 budget was postponed until March, given the uncertainty that the State poses to local authorities and awaiting the vote on the finance bill, the budgetary orientation debate will take place during this first metropolitan council of the year. The opportunity for the firefighters to reaffirm their anger in front of the Metropolis.
