Two Moments not to be missed

– January 24 at 7:30 p.m., the night of reading around “Mes-tes-nos histoire”. This year, Un Oiseau sur la Tête and Le Moment Librairie are offering this Reading Night dedicated to our “soft stories”, these stories that have been passed down to us and that we have or would like to pass on. Céline Latasa, storyteller, will inaugurate the evening with a unique show based on childhood stories. Then it will be everyone's turn to share stories out loud over hot drinks offered by the bookstore. Readers of all ages are welcome. Cuddly toys too!

The editorial team advises you

– January 31 at 6:30 p.m. at Moment Librairie in Salies: meeting with Beata Umubyeyi Mairesse, writer of Rwandan origin, who arrived in in 1994 after surviving the Tutsi genocide. In January 2024, she published her third novel, “The Convoy”, an account of her rescue and the investigation she carried out with witnesses: journalists, survivors, humanitarians.

Beata Umubyeyi Mairesse writes to tell, to transmit, to question. In “The Convoy” it is also a question of collective memory: how to reclaim memory? And how can this be tampered with, falsified, or confiscated? Pain, fear, resilience but also faith in the future… So many subjects which will undoubtedly be discussed during this special meeting.
