Trouy. A solidarity donation of Books. At the initiative of volunteers from the municipal library, Le Jardin des mots, a great solidarity action marked the end of the year. As part of a renewal of its stock, the library made a donation of 300 books to the Encouragement of dedication association of Mehun-sur-Yèvre.
This association, well known for its major biannual book grants (in October and March), uses the funds raised to financially help people in difficulty. Among the charitable actions carried out are the purchase of a Braille computer for a visually impaired young man, assistance to a family whose house was destroyed by a fire, participation in an open heart operation for a child at Clocheville hospital in Tours. And, most recently, financial support to a family, whose little girl is hospitalized for a very long period in Clermont-Ferrand, in order to facilitate the parents’ transport and accommodation costs. At the same time, Le Jardin des mots continues to work for the Telethon with the sale of books for €1 which continues until the end of January.
