Saint-Papoul. Book Fair: a 3rd edition that asks for more

Last weekend, the 3rd edition of “Saint-Papoul se livre” made people happy. Despite the vagaries of the weather, nothing could stop the visitors, who, coming from all over the world, were able to enjoy multiple activities, each more original than the last, on the theme of pop culture. They attended Emy Bloom’s round table on LGBT literature, a new genre that is gaining popularity among new generations of readers. They flew into the sky thanks to the photographic exhibition “Celestial Journeys” by Chantal Mailho. They discovered the winners of the literary prizes and took advantage of the readings from the Guestbook, but also, and this is where the novelty came in, they participated in lightsaber fights, and played Murder Party with the Polaris Brotherhood. Mangas and comics were also present, as was the world of Cosplay represented by a beautiful competition parade where each participant gave the best of themselves in terms of costumes and choreography.

Finally, some were introduced to drawing by the hand of illustrator Laurent Koëss who, with a lot of patience and kindness, gave them the keys to launching into this beautiful art. They were also able to admire his new youth works, of unparalleled gentleness. New creators appeared at this annual meeting, including O’Fan, who dazzled us with an innovative technique, that of composing personalized carpet paintings.

The 35 authors and artists were delighted to be able to sign their and chat with the public. This is how, for a weekend, the magic happened again, linking traditional culture to awakening to themes that are still unknown to many. A resounding success, hailed by exhibitors and visitors alike, who are already looking forward to doing it again. The Saint Papoulais can strongly thank the one who is at the origin of this book fair, who organizes it from start to finish and who runs it with a smile, humor and a strong knowledge of the subjects for two days, namely Elisabet Guillot .
